Chinese yoyo

The Chinese yo-yo is a traditional Chinese toy made with two circular discs connected by an axle. It is usually made of plastic for durability and the yo-yo is spun on a string with a stick on both ends. The performer can then execute extraordinary tricks ranging from a simple toss-and-catch to spinning the yo-yo on fingertips and other extravagant tricks that have the yo-yo dancing on and off the string.

Our Chinese yo-yo group performs annually at various Chinese New Year events. In the past, we have performed for:

  • UF CASA’s Chinese New Year Show
  • UF CSA’s Chinese New Year Show
  • UF TWSA’s Chinese New Year Show
  • Alachua County Library District’s Chinese New Year events (various locations)
