The Gainesville Chinese School was founded in 1989 to provide the Gainesville community with an opportunity to learn more about the Chinese language and culture. Beginning at the University of Florida’s Reitz Union with less than 40 students, GCS has expanded to the Oak Hall School to teach second-generation children in the local community.

Our Vision

At GCS, we hope to spread not only the Chinese language but also the rich culture to all people.

School Goals

  • Help those interested in Mandarin Chinese to progress in their education and achieve a certain level of skill and excellency.
  • Spread Chinese culture through the introduction of traditional extracurricular activities.
